Welcome to the force creature. vMix draws most of it's 'power' from the GPU for processing HD video and depending on your card might be why you have some dropped frames. Encoding and/or Recording are likely why your CPU is moderately high. vMix is well tested and 'structured' to work well with Intel and nVidea hardware, so less is known or documented about just how well it performs with AMD products. http://www.vmix.com/soft.../supported-hardware.aspxIce

Thank you "Ice"! After this quick initial test I'm sure I can optimize the system to operate flawlessly with the vMix software. This AMD system is running a old GTX 260 I had laying around. The computer that I am testing this on is not even close to the horsepower that I would normally use for video production. It's nice to see something that is well written and capable of running on mid level hardware with no major issues. :) -Creature

I'm making the assumption that this is the correct model you suggest Creature. http://www.amazon.com/Hi...=highpoint+rocketu+1144cI haven't had issue with the Startech, but it's great to have options and opinions, and yous is actually a bit cheaper! I see it doesn't have external power like the startech, so it must gather what it needs via the PCIe bus. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, That is the correct model. I haven't seen any USB voltage fluctuation issues even when fully loading all ports. This model (1144c) high-point controller features a "Buck Circuit" ( Voltage regulator ) on each port so you can directly power a hard drive on each port. It is a very solid performer. from my testing so far it looks like with 2 of these cards, a core I7/6 core and a good high end cuda card (or 2), 8 live webcam HD streams should be no problem using vMix! -Creature

I may have to replace my non dedicated 4 port usb3 card with one of those. Problem is, it supplies the USB to the ports on the front of my new case, and I don't think this model has internal USB connections to replace that. I'll have another look though, as perhaps they have another model that does.
