I work on a morning show / podcast in the morning, streaming to Youtube and was using the Rodecaster Pro 2 on OBS perfectly.

I want to make the change to vMix but I noticed that when the faders for the mic volume on the RP2 are all the way down, I can still hear the host and guests talking clearly.

I can't seem to solve why this issue occurs but it is troubling that the faders on the RP2 are essentially useless since volume is being outputted to the stream no matter what, unless I stop the output of the RP2 completely.

I fade in / out music throughout out the show, allow the audience to call in via bluetooth on RP2 connected to cellphone, screen voice messages sent in by the audience but I'm unable to control / regulate the audio.

The audio input you have in vMix is set to the wrong USB output of the RP2 is my guess. You're getting a different (pre-fader) mix into vMix.
