Great work, I really enjoy the new shortcuts. But I have a small request now: Is it possible to create a shortcut to reset the in/out points? This would be perfekt for my work.

Yannick

Good day Martin
Testing Version 12 now.
Did you get a chance to look at my suggestions on the Snap Shot Button in the New Feature section?

+1

what I noticed after setting a MarkIn and MarkOut point one can change it as long as it is within the marked section.
Without a reset first it is impossible to change it to before In or past the Out point

Hi Martin,
My SD license is more than a year old, I'm looking to upgrade to HD, will that count as a "new" purchase and give access to vMix 12 or will I still need to upgrade on top of that?

Thanks so much for all your work.

Yes, any upgrade will also qualify for vMix 12.
So even if the SD key is three years old, upgrading it to HD will enable free upgrades for an additional 12 months.

Martin

Great job Martin!

I especially found the new virtual studio impovements to be very usefull and the new Capture Inputs DELAY-feature!

However I would like that the default GUI color of the Output Window Title Bar would be red.

Now the default is green.

UserPostedImage

The red color would reflect better the international standards red meaning Output / Live / REC / On air.

Yes, this can easily be changed to what ever the user wants it to be, but the default should be red :)

Kind regards,
Jan Tervo

Yes, but it's the user experience that is very important.

I would also re-arrange the tabs in Add Input (Input Select -window), so that Capture would be the first, Video second, Audio Input third, Audio fourth and so on.

I would also make the window a little taller. The best solution would be that this window would be resizeable by the user.

Kind regards,
Jan

hi Martin,

I had a look at v12 and will continue testing. one aspect i am especially interested in it the recognition and naming of input cards. This remains an issue, because although you can rename the input, you still don't know which input is which, and these can vary with configuration.

example: I just test a configuration with 3 bm cards: mini recorder, mini monitor and shuttle/usb 3. they are all reported as decklink and number. but which one is which is a big issue. If i remove the sguttle it is still reported. the numbers can be different ( i named the cards on the back, but individual cards can not be recognized)

for professional use and for support of users with vmix systems in variable configurations naming should be linked to the specific card. It would be a great plus if vMix could follow bm naming as reported in the bm hardware configuration where cards are named as recorder, monitor and shuttle.

it has been reported here before and for professional use it is vital to find a sollution. in other words it's driving me €&@? sometimes and more importantly it takes time and is prone to lead to mostakes and problems if individual cards can not be uniquely distiguished within vMix and in variing configuration.

greetings, stefan

ps i have reported this problem before and linked a gechnique to add a friendlyname to a specific card. If vMix could read that, and or report another unique card identifier, then naming and labeling would be more easy. Best would be to be able to assign a unique name to the card which then is reported / selectable as a vMix capture input.

greetings, Stefan

Hi Stefan,

The naming feature in 12 is linked to the device identifier rather than the name, so once you work out which is which
the new name should stick with that particular hardware.

Martin

These audio issue is still present in vMix12:

The master audio meter is always showed even if I uncheck the "Show master audio meter in main window".

When "Show audio meter next to inputs" is checked, also the VU meters of the capture inputs without audio are showed.
Is it possible that the VU meters only appear when the input has activated audio?

Recording has no selectable audio source anymore.
It is now recording vMix audio output.
What is reason of this?

(I am recording directly from my capture card without the need to add an audio input in vMix)

- Noticed that when video source is renamed it's audio source has still the orginal name -> Settings / Audio should display the renamed name (and maybe the original also).

And the audio source should be tied the same way as the video to the new alias if not already done so (to the unique device identifier).

- There should also be a way to rename the output device and it should be displayed in Settings / External output as the name (and maybe the original also)

Kind regards,
Jan

Please read through the changes above.
The audio source for recordings is now configured from the main vMix settings.

The new video delay feature in the Capture Settings > Advanced dialog only seems to delay the video, the audio is still real-time. For this update to be of any use as a delay, it would be necessary it also plays back the audio with the same delay as the video.

Can this please be fixed before the official vMix 12 release?

Warm regards,

The audio delay is configured separately from the audio mixer.
Open up Input Settings and select Audio Settings

Ah excellent, good to know! Is it possible to delay the audio past 2000 milliseconds? I am hoping to provide a 10 second audio and video delay. Thank you!
