Great job Martin!

I especially found the new virtual studio impovements to be very usefull and the new Capture Inputs DELAY-feature!

However I would like that the default GUI color of the Output Window Title Bar would be red.

Now the default is green.

The red color would reflect better the international standards red meaning Output / Live / REC / On air.

Yes, this can easily be changed to what ever the user wants it to be, but the default should be red :)

I use a system belonging to a friend.....what I did is changed all the colours to 'black'....looks ok, and is cooler on my eyes.....what would be great, is if, instead of colour bars at the top, the words 'Preview' and 'Program', and on the small monitor windows, a colour dot or some other indicator to show selected inputs....similar to other programs.....It would be, to me, a much cooler look on the monitors....at this moment, the owner, my friend likes the look and kept it.....and he agrees with me that it is easier on his eyes....

@ Bardos59
No doubt the black is a much cooler look and easier on the eyes in the user interface, the issue would be for those using the "web interface" tally system (which is a really cool feature).
The camera crew need a bright and distinguishable color to know when they are live and at this point, those color bars are directly integrated with that feature.
I am kind of partial to bright green for preview, red for program, and of course blue for non active (black would be nice as an option there...). The GUI might look crappy, but the functionality is outstanding!

I see you view...I was only looking at the operator's point of view.....and yes, that tally light is very important.....but if there is communication between the operator and the camera operators, personally, that is not a big issue....I work in such environments very often, and I seldom pay attention to a tally light...I listen to the director for my shots and for my takes...I know it is most important in a studio setting where the talent needs to know which camera to look at...

Hey Martin . . . question about the triggers.

As I understand it, the onCompletion trigger will be triggered when say a video completes playing? But only if it's the main input?

I have a video with an alpha channel that I wanted to overlay on a live capture input. Think of it as a pre-recorded commercial, with a live shot in the background.

If I add that alpha channel video as a multiview overlay either on the live capture, or create a new color input with both the video and live capture as multiviews . . . the onCompletion will not trigger.

Is there another way I can do this? Or would this be considered a feature request?

And I've been dying to know what your general timeframe was for the vMix 12 release. I ask because I have a big event coming up at the end of February/Beginning of March. I'm wondering if I should be preparing for the full version 12.

Thanks!

Hi Brian,

The triggers you need should be added to the master input, rather than the multiview items as those will not be triggered.
Release date is expected to be early march, there will probably be another preview version before then.

Hi Martin.

I hope there will be several preview (beta) versions before the official release.

I hope there will be one soon so users are able to report any issues.

Kind regards,
Jan

So I tried a color (transparent) master input. Add the camera and the movie as overlays. When I transition to it, the movie plays. The onCompletion does not trigger.

I tried this with the trigger on the color input, and on the video. Neither fired when transitioning to the color input.

OnCompletion is triggered only when a video plays to the end and only if it is the active input.
You can use OnTransitionIn or OnTransitonOut on the blank color input.

What's the chances of triggering an event on an out point rather than just on completion ?

vMix 12 Preview has been updated (12.0.0.71)

http://www.vmix.com.au/download/vmix12preview.exe

It includes the following fixes and updates:

* WriteDurationToRecordingLog shortcut, used to write a marker to the recording log
with current duration. A label can also be added as the Value.
The duration can also be written to the log by clicking once on the Duration text
at the bottom of the main vMix window.

* MarkResetIn, MarkResetOut shortcuts added
* Checkbox added to settings to disable fading audio when clicking FTB
* Chroma Key colour picker is now a lot faster
* FIX: Master Audio Meter checkbox in settings now works as expected
* FIX: Clicking items in a flash input now works correctly
* FIX: Inputs that have no audio will no longer show an audio meter
* FIX: Fixed an audio issue with some Transport Streams
* FIX: Fixed frame rate issue when recording AVI in interlaced mode
* FIX: Dropped frames statistic is sometimes higher than actual number

There have also been some slight cosmetic changes to the user interface.
It will look the same for users on the default theme but those on the blue theme will notice significant changes.
These changes allow vMix to run faster and with less memory.

Martin

Hi,

Unfortunately saying something doesn't work is not very helpful.
Please provide detailed information as per below:
http://forums.vmix.com.a...t.aspx?g=posts&t=971

I have tested M2TS and it plays back fine.

Hi Martin,

Nice job again. I have tested a few hours around and found some minor issues.

The SetVolume function (via a shortcut) doesn't work for me; actually nothing happens. I've tried several values, but without a result. Despite of this, should the =+1/=-1 construction work for SetVolume function?

Multi View, simple setup, one static image over a video on input 1. Go to the Main of the video and adjust the Zoom/PanX/PanY. Everything works fine, however the Crop X/Y only crops the video and not the entire input (as the Zoom/PanX/PanY do)

Regarding the save of the playback speed. New Preset, add only one standard Video Delay of Main Output. Set percentage to 78%. Save present, Open present. The value displays something like 0997138, instead of 78%. 75% works fine.

Last question, would it be possible to add a shortcut to change an input for a Multi View? Something like SetInput where you can choose an input and put a number in the value which corresponds with the input (1,2,3,4 or 5). Would be very helpful (We frequently change the input of a Multi View to select a particular commercial during a break in a game, where the some other input contains the main game). Make the API almost complete.

Kind regards,
Hanno.

Hi Hanno,

I couldn't re-create the delay issue, I created a video delay and set it to 78%. When opening
the preset again it was still set to 78%. Perhaps provide a screenshot?

I created a test shortcut for SetVolume that set the preview volume to 50.
(Value should be between 0 and 100, it doesn't support += or -=)

Note using the shortcut won't update the mixer window in real time but the volume will be changed.

The crop settings are designed to crop the underlying video image regardless of the zoom and pan settings.

Will look into the ability to change multiview via API.

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin.

I have issues with vMix and Logitech C920:

When I try to import 1080P with the cameras sound device then the video image will stutter.
If I don't add the audio then the video works as it should.

If I capture only the video in one container and add an another container to just import the camera audio then I can get OK video with sound.

Kind regards,
Jan

Jan I had the same problem with my Logitech c910 webcam. In addition to the stutters I couldn't get it to throw the main video feed to Skype. All I did to fix both problems was go re-install updated drivers for the cam and all those issues disappeared. I recently switched over to Windows 8 so my drivers may not have been installed right with plug n play.

Hi.

Weird enough re-installation of the exactly same version that was already installed solved the problem.

Thanks.

Kind regards,
Jan

Hello, VMIX from version 11 to stop supporting plates streamlabs before worked perfect. The version 12 has problems on the video output of the intensity pro board, the video becomes slow.
