Osprey 440 tearing (?) problem in vMix

My Osprey 440 capture card shows white flickering horizontal lines on all video inputs.
I have 3 pal camera's connected for testing and all inputs have this behaviour.
Are there settings in vMix to correcxt this, or is it a hardware problem?
It's no computer problem:
The system resources are max 20% and the memory use is also low.
I tried another computer and it has the same problem.

There's no problem with vMix and 440 cards. I have installed this card in a number of systems.
Are you using latest drivers ? Also viewcast has built in preview screen in the control panel.
Can you see if the video is stable there?
Have you tried other programs to test video input stability ?
And make sure settings in control panel are set to "PAL" and not "NTSC"

I am using the latest Stream driver V4.5.0.89.
The settings are ok, I did a videocheck and the Osprey 440 was set to PAL-bdghi.
The videocheck images are stable, but in vMix still the flickering lines.
BTW the line are not white, but seems to be 1 or more shifted scan lines.
When vMix is started the Osprey 440 videocheck images have also flickering lines and when I close vMix the images are stable again!
When there is a lot of movement in the camera images the problem is getting worse!
I tried this but won't help:
Synchronise Output with Refresh Rate
Tick this option to eliminate tearing on the Fullscreen Output Window.
(Tearing looks like flickering lines in the middle of the video)
If I pan my camera the result is a mess, whole blocks of the screen are out of sync, I hope someone can help me.

I've seen something like this before but they were using a different program (VidBlstr) Unfortunately I don't remember what the fix was.
I want to say it had something to do with video card driver.
What's your system specs?

My specs:
Shuttle SG33G5 with Intel core duo 2,6GHz and 2x1GB ram.
Nvidia Geforce GT610 (1GB) graphics card (latest drivers).
Osprey 440 capture card (latest drivers).
Windows 7 64 bit home premium (SP1)(set to maximum performance, all visual effects disabled, except themes)
Vmix is using 315MB ram en max 10% cpu en total system resources are 25% max.
Total memory use of Windows is 1GB (1GB free).

If you do a search on the Forum I think that you will find a comment from Martin that Windows needs to have Aero enabled. I think your system is probably a little underpowered to run win7 64bit

See if the issue appears on a recording.
Regardless of the windows settings, tearing should never appear in the recording.
If it does, then it is likely the card or the driver sending distorted video to vMix.
Perhaps send us a screenshot showing the distortion so we can see if it might be something else.

Hi Martin,
The recording has the same issue.
Switching on the aero theme doesn't affect anything.
It is strange that the live view in Osprey config also get distorted as soon vMix is started.
I have made a short recording I will send it to you.

Thanks for the video.
It looks a lot like impulse noise which can be caused by any number
of electrical devices in the PC interfering with the analog signal.
Try moving the Osprey card as far away from the graphics card as possible if you have the slots available.
As vMix makes heavy use of the graphics card that might explain why it only occurs when vMix is running.

The Shuttle has only 2 slots :)
The Osprey and Geforce are next to each other, but it has no effect (see below).
This is what I noticed:
input resolution 640x480:
4 video inputs of the Osprey 440 selected with 4 camera's connected: distortion
4 video inputs of the Osprey 440 selected with 1 camera connected and 3 black images: distortion
3 video inputs of the Osprey 440 selected with 3 camera's connected: no distortion
1 video inputs of the Osprey 440 selected with 1 camera that is panning: distortion
But when I choose 768x576 for the inputs (standard resolution of the Osprey) it seems to be a lot better!
(only when there is movement there are some small lines, however if a camera is panning then it has distortion too)
The audio inputs of the Osprey 440 are in sync with the video inputs.
The pre-view inputs have a delay of app. 250ms. (regardless of the number of inputs)
(shouln't they be real-time?)
There is no diffence in behaviour between the Geforce GT610 and the onboard Intel GMA3100.
Overclocking to 3GHz (SG33G5 has a dynamic overclock setting) has also no result.
Starting WME with 30% cpu usage does not have a effect, so it shouldn't be a performance problem.

The flickering lines problem is almost solved:
I have changed all inpout en output resolutions from 640x480 into 720x567 and it seems to be reasonable stable.
Don't know why, but in WinXP it is fully stable.

Asrock P55, i7 (870), 4GB, NVidia gt240, in WinXP works fine,
video is clean but vMix is limited.

Just for the record:
I replaced my Osprey 440 card by a Winnov Videum 4400 capture card and now its working OK without white horizontal lines.

I paid $40,= on ebay. This seller has more than 10 available (1 day 19 hours left!) btw. have you already tested vMix14? It has a new video engine, maybe the Osprey conflict is solved (I didn't test it yet).

I had this problem with a different Osprey card and had to reflash the BIOS in order to get rid of it. Its a known issue at Osprey so if you call them they will tell you what you need to do for your OS
