Looks like it is limited to short video clips, under a minute in length.
Probably a bug in Haali Media Splitter as it never reports the clip is finished when I tell it to report a custom finish time on a clip less than one minute.
Can you confirm if you have the issue on videos 5 minutes or more?

Unfortunately not much I can do to fix it, it seems alternative MP4 demuxers like LAV are even worse with following mark out points.

So there are two workarounds available:

1. Edit small clips before hand to the length you want.
2. Rename them to .mov so vMix uses FFMpeg to play them back instead.

Martin

Interesting. I will keep that in mind then, just was wondering if it was a fixable thing.

Interestingly, when loading that file (improperly) renamed to a MOV, it loads in vMix fine, plays fine too, but I do not receive a context menu when right clicking the slider, so I cannot set an out point in the GUI. It only happens with MOV files. Are you seeing this too?

Martin,
Is it by design that the Streamer setting offers no drop down selection for 50 fps? It is possible to manually enter 50 fps, which seems to work fine and is accepted by FMLE (as reported in the Status window).

Furthermore, the relation between frame rate set in External and in Streamer is unclear. If External is set to 50 fps, and Streamer to 30 fps the Streamers Status window (FMLE log) reports 50 fps. Even if vMix is restarted before the streamer is started. If both External and Streamer are set to 30 fps, then the Streamers Status window reports 30 fps.

thank you Martin now is much better but it's not still the same, when I play a video (I tried an mp4) there are drops in the music (clicks) every 10/20 seconds.
this version requires more resources than previous one? How I can set the performance preferences for the best results?

I use the program for live show and I have to be sure that the video goes without imperfection

Sorry, I missed this response. In what areas is the performance different?
When upgrading versions sometimes settings need to be configured again, for example you may now be on a higher resolution / frame rate then you were previously.
As for audio, a lot of new features were added that may not work so well on older PCs.

The missing 50 fps is a mistake, but you can type it in anyway.
It would appear FMLE isn't dropping frames as expected to keep the stream at the selected frame rate, so I will likely remove
the dropdown box from the streaming window as FMLE will just use the virtual frame rate anyway.

As a side note, it would appear higher frame rates are not used very much for online streaming. For example YouTube only recently
added support for high frame rates to their flash player.

Thanks. We would like to produce and record in 50p. I thought that if the External/Virtual frame rate is different, in this case set to 30p for YouTube, then vMix had to use extra CPU resources. Is this a misunderstanding?

Less system resources actually. In vMix 13, setting the virtual frame rate to 30p while the output is 50p
means less frames will be sent to FMLE and less encoding is needed.

Aha! That's nice :)

I re-read the help section on Settings/External. Noticed a few things that might need to be checked. For example, what is the "vMix video device" in relation to "vMix Virtual Capture Device". And it says "Input Audio Device", which might be confusing (input from the perspective of the External device, but output for vMix).

Fixes

Fixed the brief amount of previous audio that can be heard when restarting input
Fixed issue with new recording file splitting feature

Hi Martin.
Found few bugs:

Bug #1:
If the Audio Mixer detached -function is used, detached window don't remember it's last position when restarted/preset loaded.

Bug #2:
Detached Audio Mixer window is "higher" than Question dialogs, preventing to see / access them if Audio Mixer window is over them.

Kind regards,
Jan

To this point, I can't seem to figure out how to retach the detached Audio Mixer.

To re-attach the audio mixer, just click on minimize ....the little "-" and it will relink...The same way you would to minimize any window.......it is found in the 'help' files, but I found that out on my own....

It's worth checking the help file before posting here as it explains the minimise function:

http://www.vmix.com.au/help13/Mixer.html

Also, the mixer will be on top of all other windows, this is a windows limitation as I can't set it to be above
all windows but not messages, it is all or nothing.

Martin

Hi Martin.
Yes, I did read the documentantion before posting here.
vMix should in my opinion remember the state and position of the undocked window or make the window always docked when loaded.

Kind regards,
Jan

Yes, the state and position of the undocked audio mixer is remembered.
The drag position of the mixer when docked is also saved.

Maybe it is a stupid question ...
I have seen that you found a solution for Elgato Game Capture. Can I expect, that the last version of vMix would work also with HD PVR 2 Gaming Edition?

Hi Martin.

This works now only partly in 13..142.

If the Audio portion is undocked and a preset is loaded the Audio window position is not updated.

Kind regards,
Jan
