Hi all -

Using the SD version right now.
I am live streaming and recording to an MPEG file at the same time.

using an HP server with 12Gb of RAM, dual-core i7 processor and an Osprey PCI-x video card.

Video mix from an SD switcher into the Osprey on BNC, audio from a Mackie mixer into the Osprey card on RCA unbalanced.

The live stream does not have any issues.
The recorded file has significant delays in audio, and actual audio dropout.
The log file does not show any drops - we see it when we play back the recorded file.


Are there any fixes or settings I need to adjust?
Any suggestions?

MPG may have some audio delay issues in some programs, try playing it back in VLC to see if the problem is during playback.

The dropped frames does not seem normal, what graphics card are you running in that system?
Also, the frame rate should probably be 29.97p instead of 30p, double check it is set to match
both the camera input and the main vMix settings.

MPG - the video quality was better than TS

As the log file shows, it is an Osprey 260e. We do not get this issue when using it in FMLE which we have done for years prior to using vMix.

Also, the frame rate should probably be 29.97p instead of 30p, double check it is set to match
both the camera input and the main vMix settings.

We shoot a lot of sports and set the cameras to 30fps so that the motion is smoother, so I set vMix to the same setting as the camera.

My render time is 4ms and my CPU usage is 1%

By graphics card I mean the card used for video output to displays.
For example Intel, NVidia or AMD.

The dropped frames seems to indicate that 29.97p is set in vMix settings
while 30p is set in the camera. There are three places to check:

1. When adding the input
2. In vMix Settings
3. In the recording settings

MPG and TS are identical quality, they just use a different file format
depending on what what editing program you are using, TS is preferred.

Just a notation, on my system Premiere Pro CS5 does not recognize vMix's TS, so I'm not sure how or why it is considered "preferred". Can you elaborate?

ok, I've used it 4 times with the 29.97 settings in cameras, switcher, and vMix.

In the test I did that was 15 minutes long, no problems.

All the other tests were 30 minutes - 1 1/2 hours and the drift is really bad.

any suggestions?

also I would be interested in an answer to the question Ice asked, because we also use CS5 and CS6 and it won't even import an MPEG-TS file.

Can you provide the log file for the drifted recording?
Can you confirm if the drift is evident when playing back in something like VLC or just when opening in Premiere?

TS has accurate timing information and works with the majority of video editors, but possibly not Premiere.
You may also want to try recording to AVI which Premiere may work better with.
